Center-back Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar stretched the lead further with a spectacular long-range shot from 20 meters out, occurring in the 23rd minute.
Saravanan completed a brace with his second goal of the game, courtesy of another assist from Fergus in the 61st minute.
Malaysia's next challenge awaits them against the host nation, Thailand, at Chonburi Stadium on September 12.
